Finally! Starting a solo travel blog
I decided to (finally!) become a travel blogger by launching my very own solo travel blog. I will be sharing my thoughts about solo travel destinations, tips to travel alone, travel packing, why I travel solo, and many more. My determination to become a travel blogger comes from being inspired by a great roster of the best travel bloggers, and they are the source of my strength in starting this wonderful journey in my life.
So, what the heck makes me decide on stepping up from my usual social media platforms? From saving my travel interests, ideas, and quotes on my Pinterest boards, sharing articles, alerts, and anecdotes related to travel on my Twitter account, and of course, posting my travel and lifestyle photos on Instagram (where the Explorabella brand has started)?
For the longest time since I’ve been bitten by the travel bug and infected with the incurable “wanderlust”, I always want to create a blog or website where I can share my travel passions, as well as other of my interests in a descriptive manner. I want a platform where I can create content for topics such as my first solo travel experience in London, the best layover city tours, how to travel with just a carry-on bag, travel packing list for international travel, and many more!
I also want to have an outlet to share my thoughts and feelings (and maybe some possible ranting, but I will keep it to a minimum…I promise!) regarding some issues facing solo female travelers as well as the travel industry itself. Due to my courage to travel alone in places I have never imagined I’ll ever go solo, I want to demonstrate that if I can do it, you can do it as well, no matter what gender, age, or race you belong. Believing in yourself and doing it because of your passions, I want to prove that there is absolutely nothing wrong in solo travel and traveling alone. It is not because I don’t have any friends, husband, and/or children. It is not because I am a sad lonely person. I travel solo because I want to discover the world and at the same time, discover more about myself. During my first trip to Europe back in 2012, my passion for travel has erupted and also found a new hobby which is photography.
Ever since I’ve started Explorabella, I dream of expanding this brand to encourage people to travel and explore the world, and within those travel learn more about ourselves, to open our hearts and our minds and discover that there is more to life than what society dictates us. By using this platform, I also want to empower and inspire women not to depend too much on others and be an independent thinker and doer, that they can do it on their own. Female solo travel is one good example and it proves that being able to travel alone is not gender exclusive.
I have waited for so many years! I have waited for the right time to come and waited to finally have enough resources to invest in this passion project. I have been putting this on the back burner for a long time due to other priorities (full-time job and health). As the new year comes by, life is getting shorter and I am not getting any younger, so I decided to finally dedicate more to Explorabella, continue to explore some more, share and help others through this passion, and empower people that they can do it on their own.
Cheers to the new beginnings!
